Resist. Reimagine. Rebuild.

Building Unity and Resistance

Resist. Reimagine. Rebuild. Coalition Chicago is a coalition of Chicago-based groups and individuals, formed in November of 2016, committed to building relationships and strategies for responding to the current racist and proto-fascist political moment.

Unity Statement

What we resist...

No bans. No walls. No registries. No deportations.

Resist the ‘bad old days’ of unapologetic Racism, White supremacy, Misogyny, Bigotry, Homophobia, Patriarchy.

Stop racist police violence and greater police powers. Say “No” to this Law and Order presidency.

Resist Trump’s promise to invest in the US military and strengthen the US war machine.  Do not support national day of patriotic devotion.

No lower taxes for corporations and wealthy families.

No voter suppression. No district gerrymandering. No electoral college.

No cuts to violence against women programs.

Stop gentrification and the displacement of poor people and people of color.

Divest public funding of fossil fuels. Stop Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines.

What we reclaim...

Support Sanctuary Cities and Welcoming Communities.

“Become more militant in our defense of vulnerable populations.”

Defend our right to dissent, protest and disrupt.

Defend the press (including Black journalists and alternative press). Demand accountability.

Demand more public resources for our public schools, social services and community health.

Support living wage ordinances. Defend the right to unionize.

Defend direct democracy, at a minimum, at all levels of government.

Protect cis, lesbian, queer, and trans women. Protect reproductive rights and free choice.
